The Lady Buddha pagoda faces out to the Eastern Sea, to the left of her is the Cham Islands and on the right is the glorious Hai Van Pass. She is said to protect the City and the many working fisherman when a storm hits. The Laddy Buddha is built on the Son Tra Mountain and stands with great pride, visible from many directions. Her direction marked the development of Vietnam Buddhism in the 21 st Century.

In between Da Nang and the neighbouring City of Hoi An you will find five small but incredibly interesting mountians known as
the Marble Mountains. They are each named after the elements metal, wood, water, fire and earth and contain within them a network of caves and tunnels that visitors
are free to explore. This Half Day Tour will take you here as well as stopping off at one of the most famous marble workshops in Vietnam, whilst here you will learn much about how skilled craftsmen create these marble masterpieces.

Da Nang’s Museum of Cham Sculpture was first opened in 1919 and it contains many sculptures related to the Ancient Champa Kingdom that reigned over the country. The collection was begun by French archaeologists and experts from École Francaise d’Extrême-Orient(EFEO), some aretfacts were sent to Paris, others to the Vietnamese capital Ha Noi and Sai Gon (now Ho Chi Minh City). However many of the sculptures remained in Tourane (or as we know it now Da Nang).

The tour departs from Sofia Hotel at 8 a.m in the morning (or 2 p.m in the afternoon depending whether you choose the Morning or Afternoon tour). The driver and private car will meet you there and he will drive you up towards the Lady Buddha, where you will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful view over Da Nang City.

After visiting the Lady Buddha and Linh Ung Pagoda you will be driven back down the mountain and alongside the beautiful white sandy beach towards the Marble Mountains. Once here you will have time to fully discover and explore the mountain’s many caves and hidden temples, as well as climb to the top and see the amazing views that surround you.

The last stop on the trip is to the Museum of Cham Sculpture where you will learn much about the Ancient Champa Kingdom and the many interesting sculptures and artefacts housed within the museum.
